Linda Laake, Owner

Hi! I’m Linda Laake! (my last name is pronounced “LAKE” in case you were wondering!)

I am a Milwaukee-based designer focused on creating memorable, meaningful experiences through creative workshops and thoughtful event design. I love working with small groups, which allows me to offer personalized, connecting experiences.

People crave the love and distinction that are lacking in mass-produced products. Along the way to the creation of a unique one-of-a-kind item, makers develop a sense of connection to themselves, each other, and the creative process. My goal is to support this process from brainstorm to final product for novice and advanced makers alike.

I enjoy the challenge of exploring new mediums and developing out-of-the-box ideas. Nothing beats the satisfaction that comes from presenting a customized, handmade creation to a recipient who wasn’t sure it could be done! My experience and inventiveness have resulted in many successful creations, which you can explore in the Gallery section of this site.

I have a background in scenic design, having had my hand in many storefront plays, primarily sourcing and creating props, decorating sets, and painting scenery. Through those experiences, I’ve enjoyed and learned how to work with a wide variety of people, spaces, resources, and budgets.

My previous career, working with people who have intellectual/developmental disabilities, has played a huge role in developing my creativity and ingenuity. I know the importance of staying calm and maintaining a sense of humor in a chaotic environment; and can adapt projects for every level of ability.
